Albania in the final preparations for hosting the European Political Community summit on May 16, ready ‘The House of Europe’

On May 16, Albania will host the European Political Community Summit, which is expected to gather European leaders in Tirana.

The Albanian authorities are in the final preparations for hosting the delegations according to the traditional Albanian saying that states that the home of an Albanian is the home of the host and the guest.

“The House of Europe” under the shadow of the Skanderbeg monument, the national hero of Albanians in the square of the same name in the capital is almost ready.

This structure will host the European leaders while part of the “House of Europe” are also the paintings and drawings of students from schools across Albania that represent their vision for Europe.

Surrounded by institutions of culture and governance, the “Skanderbej” square represents the democratic transformation of the country and its future-oriented spirit.

It stands today not only as a reference point for national renewal but also as a suitable place for open dialogue, shared aspirations, and a stronger and more united Europe.

At this summit, heads of state and government will come together with leaders of key European and international institutions.

Its focus will be on four important themes that will be developed at high-level tables: Security and democratic resilience; strengthening competition and economic security; migration, mobility, and youth empowerment; vision, leadership, and new ways of action for Europe in a new world.

Albania’s role as a host reflects the deepening of the country’s European vocation and its contribution to regional and continental stability. As a NATO member, a candidate country for the EU, and an active voice in regional cooperation, Albania is uniquely positioned to organize an important dialogue at a time when Europe needs to speak and act with more cohesion.

One day before the European Political Community Summit in Albania, the leaders of the European Council and the European Union will gather for a working dinner in Tirana with the leaders of the Western Balkan region. (May 12)
