Hammad Azam Faces 100% Match Fee Fine

On Thursday, sources reported that Kingsmen skipper Hammad Azam was fined 100% of his match money for misbehaving in a high-stakes PCB Grade-II Tournament encounter against Wing Triple Nine Sports.

Hammad Azam lost his temper at the State Bank Ground in Karachi when the umpires pronounced him out. Sources said the all-rounder misbehaved with field umpires Rafiq Ahmed and Abdul Kareem and insulted match referee Ali Gohar.

Both umpires informed the match referee, resulting in discipline. An official hearing was called for Hammad and the Kingsmen management. However, insiders say the skipper remained combative throughout the meeting, worsening the situation.

After repeated transgression, match referee Ali Gohar fined Hammad Azam 100% of his match pay, sending a stern message about player discipline and on-field conduct.

Tuesday marked the start of the President’s Trophy Grade-II 2024-25 in Abbottabad, Haripur, Islamabad, Karachi, Lahore, Rawalpindi, Sheikhupura, and Swabi. Most of the 85-match tournament will be three-day matchups, while the final will be four days from May 22 to 25.
