In a good atmosphere, the Šefčovič-Greer meeting on tariffs

The meeting in Paris between European Trade Commissioner Maroš Šefčovič and U.S. Trade Representative Jamison Greer took place in a positive atmosphere. In a post on X, Mr. Šefčovič stated that he had a “productive and constructive meeting” with his counterpart on the sidelines of the Trade Ministerial.
“We are moving in the right direction at a pace and remain in close contact to maintain the momentum,” said the Trade Commissioner, referring to the negotiations between the two sides on the issue of tariffs.
As has been reported by the spokesperson for the European Commission on trade matters, discussions on tariffs have moved to the document exchange level, indicating that they are progressing and seem to be taking place in a positive atmosphere, following the phone call between European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen and U.S. President Donald Trump.
