Meeting Mucunski – Betel: Luxembourg’s support for advancing the integration process of North Macedonia into the EU

Skopje – During the working visit to Luxembourg, the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade, Timčo Muцunski, held a meeting with the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign and European Affairs of Luxembourg, Xavier Bettel.
The Ministry announced today that this bilateral meeting represents a confirmation of Luxembourg’s strong interest in the Western Balkans, as well as our country’s strategic commitment to integration into the European family and contribution to regional stability, security, and peace.
– Both ministers welcomed the excellent friendly relations between the two countries and expressed a joint commitment to intensifying political dialogue in the upcoming period. They also discussed the potential for enhancing bilateral cooperation, with a particular emphasis on economic and trade relations, in order to take advantage of opportunities for new investments, the statement added.
Minister Muцunski expressed gratitude for the support from the European Union following the tragedy in Kočani, as well as for the continuous and strong Luxembourg support for our country’s European perspective, which is manifested through support for reform processes, technical and expert assistance.
The meeting also highlighted the progress the country has made in implementing reforms and the efforts to remain a leader in fulfilling the reform agenda. The Minister of Foreign and European Affairs, Xavier Bettel, confirmed Luxembourg’s readiness and support for further advancing our country’s integration process into the European Union.
