Minister of Justice of the Slovak Republic: MEPs are not interested in the truth and substantive discussion

Bratislava – Members of the European Parliament (EP) who came to Slovakia as part of delegations monitoring the rule of law and the management of EU funds, according to the Minister of Justice of the Slovak Republic Boris Susko (Smer-SD), are not interested in the truth and substantive discussion. This follows from the minister’s statement on social media regarding the activities of the delegations, TASR reports.
“Despite intensive and lengthy negotiations both at the Ministry of Justice of the Slovak Republic and the Government Office, the Members of the European Parliament ignore all explanations and arguments that have been provided to them. I would like to point out that these topics have already been the subject of discussions with the European Commission, where we clarified these issues and the debate on them was concluded with the finding that the legal order of the Slovak Republic is fully in line with EU law in the area of protecting the financial interests of the European Union,” the minister stated.
According to him, the MEPs are “kicking the ball out of the net” just to tarnish the reputation of the Slovak Republic in the European Parliament on topics that they purposefully distort.
“Instead of a professional exchange of views, they demonstrate a distinctly political and subjective approach,” the Minister of Justice assessed the situation. (June 3)
