Minister warns Swedish companies about Trump and the USA

Karlstad – The Swedish Minister of Enterprise Ebba Busch warns Swedish companies against relocating operations to the USA to avoid tariffs.

“It is risky for a company’s future to move to a country led by such an unpredictable leader,” says Busch.

“The message is: Choose Sweden.”

Busch also states that the escalation now seen with China announcing a 34 percent tariff on American goods is “incredibly unfortunate.”

“This is the result when one initiates a trade war.”

When asked what the EU should respond to the USA with, Busch says:

“It will involve countermeasures, but we will do this collectively within the EU, and we (the government) will try to carve a path that still protects Swedish input goods as much as possible.”

Ebba Busch expects that the uncertainty about what to expect from President Donald Trump and his administration will continue.
