Plenković and Duda on cooperation within the EU and NATO

ZAGREB – Prime Minister Andrej Plenković and Polish President Andrzej Duda advocated on Tuesday in Zagreb for the continuation of partnership and close cooperation between Croatia and Poland within the EU and NATO in light of the complex geopolitical situation, it was announced by the government.
As stated, Plenković emphasized the importance of continuing the partnership and close cooperation between Croatia and Poland within the EU and NATO, considering the complex geopolitical circumstances.
He also informed the Polish president about the positive economic developments in Croatia, and they discussed strengthening cooperation in energy, tourism, and defense.
Plenković and Duda exchanged views on current global challenges, transatlantic relations between the EU and the USA, the importance of further support for Ukraine, and achieving a just and sustainable peace, as well as opportunities in Southeast Europe.
Particular emphasis was placed on the Three Seas Initiative, which will be chaired by Croatia in its jubilee tenth year, following Poland, as stated in the announcement.
During the meeting with his host, President Zoran Milanović, Polish President Andrzej Duda called on Croatia to increase the number of its soldiers in the NATO mission in Poland and offered his country’s assistance to the Croatian border police in combating illegal migration.
Duda, the Polish president from the conservative Law and Justice (PiS) party, arrived in Zagreb at the very end of his second term, after 10 years that his Croatian host declared as “successful and interesting.” (April 15, 2025)
