R. Raši: The Slovak Republic will continue to be a reliable partner in the EU

Budapest/Bratislava – The Slovak Republic will continue to be a reliable partner in the EU. This was stated on Monday in the Hungarian Parliament by the Speaker of the National Council of the Slovak Republic, Richard Raši. This information comes from a statement by the Communication Department of the National Council of the Slovak Republic, reported by the TASR correspondent in Budapest.

“We are ready and determined to closely cooperate within the Union in seeking solutions to global challenges,” said the Speaker of the Slovak Parliament at the conference of EU parliamentary leaders. The central theme of the conference is the future of Europe.

Raši discussed issues of national sovereignty, the perspective of European cooperation, and the Union’s approach to its citizens.

“The future of the EU is shaped by the everyday lives of its citizens, and therefore, in the interest of maintaining trust in the European project, we cannot leave out any citizen or region, and we must act together,” added the Speaker of the National Council of the Slovak Republic.

On this occasion, Raši held bilateral talks with the Speaker of the Parliament of the Republic of Cyprus, Annita Dimitrios, and the Speaker of the Parliament of the Republic of Moldova, Igor Grosu, but also met with the President of the European Parliament, Roberta Metsola, the Speaker of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, Ruslan Stefanchuk, the Speaker of the Italian Chamber of Deputies, Lorenzo Fontana, the Speaker of the National Council of the Republic of Austria, Walter Rosekranz, and the Speaker of the Bulgarian National Assembly, Natalia Kiselova.

Raši’s trip will continue on Tuesday with his first official visit to Hungary, during which he will meet with the Speaker of the Hungarian Parliament, László Kövér, the Hungarian President, Tamás Sulyok, and the Prime Minister of Hungary, Viktor Orbán. (May 12)
