Saber Interactive drops its first trailer for Hellraiser: Revival

Sick, twisted freaks, rejoice — your time has come. Hellraiser: Revival, what Clive Barker himself calls the franchise’s "first true horror game," is on the way thanks to Saber Interactive and Boss Team Games.
The trailer, released today, sees players take on the role of Aidan as he ventures into Hell and across a corrupted Earth to rescue his missing girlfriend and confront the Cenobites. From the small snippets of gameplay shown, expect some brutal combat against demonic hordes and tense encounters with iconic characters like Chatterer and Butterball.
It might seem odd that it's taken this long. A series about sadomasochistic demons from Hell summoned by solving a cursed puzzle box sounds tailor-made for gaming. However, the adaptation fits right in with the recent trend of reviving '70s and '80s horror icons for modern gaming.
Boss Team Games, known for Evil Dead: The Game (2022), is stepping away from the asymmetrical multiplayer format and delivering a full-fledged single-player action horror experience. Unlike other horror adaptations such as Texas Chainsaw Massacre: The Game, Friday the 13th, or Evil Dead, Hellraiser: Revival focuses on narrative-driven single-player gameplay. It trades the online matchmaking and lopsided lobbies for a more intimate and blood-soaked descent into Barker’s universe.
I'd cry, but as the saying goes, that would be a waste of good suffering.
