Slovenia successful in the European CEF call with ten projects

Brussels – The European Commission has selected 94 infrastructure projects submitted in the last call for co-financing with EU grants from the Connecting Europe Facility (CEF). Among the projects that will receive a total of 2.76 billion euros, there are ten from Slovenia, including the construction of the second railway track Divača-Koper with co-financing of 156 million euros.
The call was aimed at establishing standards for the trans-European transport network TEN-T in railway, port, partially also in road infrastructure, as well as in multimodal platforms and river navigation routes. For the implementation of the ten selected projects in Slovenia, the European Commission will allocate just over 167 million euros in grants.
“With this, we will continue our efforts to improve and modernize transport infrastructure and to connect more effectively with the rest of Europe,” announced the Slovenian Ministry of Infrastructure.
For two projects of the company 2TDK on the second railway track Divača – Koper, namely for equipping the track and electrical devices and for the introduction of the European railway traffic management system, the European Commission will allocate a total of 156.1 million euros this time. The EU grants obtained from the call represent a significant financial relief for the nearly one billion euro project and ensure conditions for its quality, modern, and technologically advanced implementation, the company 2TDK expressed satisfaction.
