Trump “100%” sure that an agreement with the EU will be found

Washington – U.S. President Donald Trump said he is “100% sure” of reaching a tariff agreement with the Twenty-Seven. The Italian Prime Minister spoke in unison at the beginning of the meeting on Thursday in Washington, also stating she is “certain” that an agreement will be found.

The leader of the ultraconservative coalition in power in Rome, however, claimed she “cannot negotiate on behalf of the European Union,” as relations between the EU and the United States have been tense since the trade war initiated by the American president and his indiscriminate use of tariffs.

“My goal is to invite President Trump to make an official visit to Italy and try to organize such a meeting with Europe if possible,” Giorgia Meloni added.

In the midst of the trade war, the European Central Bank (ECB) has just agreed to a 0.25 point reduction in interest rates to strengthen the eurozone economy. (April 17 (AFP)
