Ukrainians can call freely in the EU from 2026

Brussels – Ukraine is invited to join the EU’s free mobile roaming starting from the turn of the year.
“We want Ukrainian citizens to be able to stay connected with their loved ones across the entire EU, as well as in their home country. Therefore, we propose that Ukraine joins our roaming family,” says EU Commission President Ursula von der Leyen in a press release.
If approved by the EU countries, this means that Ukrainians from January 1, 2026, can call from their Ukrainian mobile phones in the EU for the same cost as in their home country. The same rules will also apply to EU citizens visiting Ukraine.
