US journalists visit the European Newsroom

The journalists came to Europe as part of an exchange program organized by the RIAS Berlin Commission. This commission organizes trips several times a year primarily for radio and television journalists from the USA and Germany. The goal is to better understand the media of the respective countries and the topics that particularly concern them.
The visitors came from California, New York, Washington D.C., Colorado, and North Carolina, and work for media outlets such as CNN, NPR, NBC, CBS, and the National Journal. They were accompanied by Christoph Jumpelt, the Executive Director of the RIAS Berlin Commission.
Ivonne Marschall, Tim Kohnen, and Christian Röwekamp presented the enr project at the Residence Palace, explaining especially the benefits for the participating agencies, such as organising and conducting joint interviews with leading representatives of the EU. The conversation quickly also turned to the challenges currently facing the media on both sides of the Atlantic.
After their stay in Brussels, the group visited additional media outlets in Cologne, Leipzig, and Berlin in Germany.
